What is art research?

Monday 26 October 2015, 11.00 – 13.00

Art research entails art practice. Thus art research is both foundational to the activities of the art school, but it is also an aspect of the art school that can productively and critically connect art practice to other knowledge fields. For What is Art Research we begin to look at how artists undertake research inside and outside the art school and we will consider some different approaches and conceptions.

With Gill Addison (artist, Senior Lecturer BAFA Chelsea and PHD student), Aaron McPeake, (artist and Lecturer), and Malcolm Quinn, (Professor of Cultural and Political History, Associate Dean of Research and Director of CCW Graduate School, UAL). Introduced by Katrine Hjelde Graduate Diploma Course Leader.
