Risk as a word and as a concept permeates Fine Art discourse and Fine Art Pedagogy. Can we evaluate and productively draw on notions of risk – a word that means very different things to different people? This KEY event will begin to explore risk in relation to art practices productively and critically, as well as considering how it sits within the art educational system. Here risk is often embraced in course documentations and unit briefs but seemingly discouraged by health and safety protocols, studio rules and assessment procedures.
With Natasha Kidd, Artist and Course Leader BA FA Bath Spa University and Dave Webster, Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning, Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon. Introduced and facilitated by Katrine Hjelde Graduate Diploma Course Leader.
