Monday 16 January 2017, 11:00 – 13:00
Guest speaker: Patricia Ellis.
The Fine Art Programme at Chelsea College of Arts educates students to develop careers as artists. This KEY event explores what an art career is or could be, and what it actually means to be a professional artist. Contemporary artists are engaged in a multiplicity of practices and connect to parallel art and cultural worlds, all of which which make this a complex issue. How, for instance, does the Art School prepare artists for professional practice across a range of fields, and how can we make sense of the relationship between the art school and society?
With Patricia Ellis (artist and Course Leader MA Fine Art), Martin Newth, (artist and Course Director Fine Art) and more. Introduced by Katrine Hjelde, Graduate Diploma Course Leader.
