Tuesday 19 June 2018, 14.30 – 16.30
Following last week’s interrogation of Materiality, we set out to explore the demmaterialisation of contemporary art practices. The interconnectivity of the Digital Age and the evolution of A.I. and immersive technologies allow new possibilities for art research and making. These changes present new questions (and answers) to how art is displayed, commodified and fits into wider environmental concerns.
In this KEY Event we will unpack the notion of Immateriality and investigate the slippery interface between the physical and the digital, the artwork and the viewer. We are asking, why make things? And what are we making if we don’t?
We have invited artist Annabelle Craven-Jones and the collective ZU:UK to help us facilitate this discussion.
