Tuesday 9 October 2018, 15.00 – 17.00
For ‘Why go to Art School’ we explore this site of higher learning, the ‘Art University’, and its art, educational and societal affiliations. What is the role of the art school for individuals and for society? What is our agency within the artschool? How do we make sense of the way the art school intersects with ideas, concepts and problems of contemporary artistic production whilst understanding these as situated historically and politically?
With guest speaker Martin Newth, Fine Art Programme Director and former Graduate Diploma student, Sophie Kemp.
