What is a Studio?

Tuesday 23 October 2018, 15.00 – 17.00

For What is a Studio? we explore this site of production and examine its role for an artist.

How do artists navigate art production with or without a space? Daniel Buren wrote his seminal piece: The Function of the Studio in 1979 where he interrogated the studio as a site of production in relation to the destination of the artwork – in 2018 this question has become more complex.

Convened by Katrine Hjelde, Course Leader Grad Dip Fine Art and Elizabeth Peebles, Senior Lecturer and BA Fine Art Year 3 Leader. With Rhiannon Moxham, Chelsea BA Fine Art Graduate and Babak Ghazi, Senior Lecturer Fine Art.
